We use many different energy sources to do work for us.
Energy sources are classified into two groups, Renewable and
Nonrenewable.
Renewable and nonrenewable energy can be converted into
secondary energy sources like electricity.
1. Renewable energy sources
Can be replenished in a short period of time.
The five renewable sources used most often are:
1. Solar Energy: energy from the Sun.
2. Wind Energy: energy from Moving Air.
3. Hydropower: energy from Moving Water.
4. Biomass: energy from Plants and Animals.
5. Geothermal: energy from the Earth's Core.
2. Nonrenewable energy sources
Come out of the ground as liquids, gases and solids.
1. Petroleum (Oil): a fossil fuel.
2. Natural Gas: a fossil fuel.
3. Coal: a fossil fuel.
4. Nuclear: energy
